A love-hate relationship (?) mostly skewing toward the love part. 🙂 Such a cute squirrel, and another stellar Haiku, Mary Jo.
I love this photograph. For years I resented squirrels for “stealing” bird seed meant only for my feathered friends and battles ensued. Then one day I began throwing a little extra seed on the ground especially for them where birds also joined in peaceful coexistence. It solved the problem of their finding creative ways to storm the feeders. Apparently the path of least resistance is theirs too 😊
Elegant solution! 🙂
Well done, MJ … and I like Dave’s love-hate idea because it is so fitting for squirrels.
Thanks to you and Dave for recognizing this attitude. Once I solved the problem, animosity vanished. I’ve had squirrels stare me down for stealing park benches they favored. 😁
I agree, Dave! Mary Jo has an amazing way of brings words together to create a powerful message.
Thank you, my dear friend. The father in this poem is setting an example for the child watching him in a friendly joust with the squirrel.
Thank you for the introduction to Sandra Johnson’s blog! Brilliant photography.
I wake up to her beautiful photos weekday mornings. Such an inspiration to start the day!
A sense of peace and spiritual tranquility to see how it is fed. Great your Haiku Mary
Thank you! They are in peaceful accord.
You are welcome
I like indulgent Papa in your haiku. He would be a good dad, someone I would like to know. The measure of a man in only three short lines!
Lovely response, Liz. I appreciate your observation.
Thank you! I just love meeting people like Papa in literature. It’s such a gift.
Sweetness and kindness drives these words. After all papa speaks out of love. 😉❤
Thank you! It takes one to know one, as we say. Tenderness and laughter can usually appease the critters 🐿❄️🌲
🤗🙏❤
Your poetry is so beautiful. This is such a lovely little squirrel.
Thank you, Peggy! He really is adorable, isn’t he? Sandra Johnson has a great eye, and heart, for wildlife.
So cute!!!!!
